Rolling Over
Gavin rolled over for the first time from his back to tummy......he has been working on this for awhile! He has had the basic skill and concept down he just could not lift his big head to push himself over. Well, he finally figured it out! This was the 5th video I took....I tried everything to get him to keep trying to roll over. I finally just shut-up, sat there and waited for him to give it another try.
Cereal Please!
So we decided to start Gavin on cereal this past weekend and he loves it! Since I nurse him we thought it would be great if dad gave him his cereal at night. Gavin did great the first night and he knew exactly what to do and ate it all. By the second night he had it all figured out...the minute he saw the spoon and bowl he started smiling and kicking. He knew what was coming! We asked Gavin if he thought the cereal tasted good and what he thought about it...and he gave it a "thumbs up"
Gavin is 5 Months!
Our little guy is growing so fast and is now 5 months old! Everyday is the best day knowing I have this little guy in my life....he just makes my heart melt! We just love him to pieces and can't image one moment without him! Happy 5 months Gavin Bo!
Gavin this month has been just as rewarding as the last 4 months....I love watching you grow! You have made some new discoveries this month one being your FEET! You love to grab at your feet any chance you get. The other discovery this month that seems to make you REALLY happy is cereal. We started feeding you cereal this past weekend and you just love it....the moment you see the spoon you get your mouth going and start smiling! It is the cutest thing ever, but then again you are the cutest baby! You also seem to be discovering your thumb more and more....you will take a pacifier, but prefer to suck on your thumb for naps. Mom is going to have to watch this so it does not become a habit, but it is so darn cute.
Gavin you are taking three naps a day for an hour to an hour and a half. You are still nursing 6 times a day every 3.5 hours now. Over the holidays you kinda got off schedule and were not sleeping the best at night...you were waking up 2-3 times. However, in the last week you have gone back to your regular sleep habits and are sleeping much better. You go to bed around 7:30pm and wake up once to eat now at 5:00 and then back to bed until 7:30. Overall you are a wonderful, happy, easy going baby! I live for the moments when you smile back at me and make your sweet little giggles.

Pajama Day
What do you do on a day like this.....
Make it a pajama day...... and then we play and play and play! Gavin loves to play in his warm fleece pajamas. He enjoys playing in his swing and going back and forth, back and forth.

One of Gavin's new best friends is "Wiggles" the puppy who counts, sings, and lights up! Gavin loves to suck and bit on Wiggles as he sings.

Gavin also enjoys playing in his ultra saucer....he studies all of the toys so intently!
Everything was going so well and then all of a sudden....it looks like someone has played too hard! So what else do we do on a cold snowy day....take a comfy, snuggly nap on mom! Mom loves cold snowy days!

White Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone!! It was a "White" Christmas this year. This year we headed up to Nebraska to celebrate Christmas with my dad and Kim. This Christmas was a special one since my dad turned 50 on Christmas day and it was Gavin's first Christmas. We had a great time just relaxing and enjoying the smiles and giggles from Gavin.
My dad just recently in the last year built a new house on 120 acres in Seward Nebraska....it is BEAUTIFUL!!! It was the perfect white Christmas. My dad and Kim watched Gavin while Courtney and I spent some time out in the timber! We got all dressed up in our winter gear and went stomping through the snow. We took a "gator" ride and I learned to drive a tractor for the first time.....it was so peaceful and beautiful out there. Gavin is going to love visiting Grandpa and Grandma D's place when he gets older. There will be a lot of fun things for him to do and get into! :)
It was 4 days of R&R....it seems like all we do any more is go "gaa"over Gavin. It was an exciting 4 days as Gavin ALMOST rolled over from his back to stomach for the first time. We spent many hours playing with him on the floor hoping it would happen any minute!
Gavin was the perfect "Santa's Little Helper"...... and so was Gunner (the black lab) of course!

We absolutely had the best Christmas ever! What more could we ask for than spending time with the ones we love and making memories! Thanks dad and Kim for an amazing Christmas!
