Air Force Expo

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to attend the Commemorative Air Force Expo. Gavin seems to really like airplanes, so we thought it would be neat to take him. They had about 50 airplanes on display along with many up flying around. They were also giving airplane rides for $$$! They had a P-51 Gunfighter that they were offing rides in for $1695 per person! We thought about it.....but then figured that was a little more than we were willing to pay! ;) LOL. Anyways, we had a blast watching the planes take-off and land. Courtney and Gavin did get to tour the inside of the B17 though.

The B17: Rides $500-$750 per person

The B25: Rides $400 per person.

Hawks Win!

Courtney was out of town last weekend, so it up to Gavin and I to cheer on the Hawks by ourselves. We had our own "living room" tailgate complete with popcorn, cookies, cracker & cheese plater, chips & dip, and a beer for mom! After the Hawks won it was only fair to celebrate with ice cream. So, we headed over to Peachwave (create your own frozen yogurt parfait).

Now it is kind of hard to tell if his excitement is from the Hawks win, or the ice cream.....

Growing up so fast

He is getting so big! Climbing all by himself

Hawkeye Football Season!

Well, it is that time again....Hawkeye Football Season! We kicked the season off by going over to Jake and Rachel's to watch the game and by enjoying some good food, good drinks, beanbags, and good friends! Gavin has mastered the art of cheering for the hawks...."Touchdown Hawkeyes"

Grand Lake

A few weekends ago we headed to Grand Lake with some friends from Arkansas. It was so much fun getting all of our kiddos together and watching them play in the lake, go fishing, and just explore. Gavin got to go on his first boat ride and go tubing for the first time! Gavin loves the swimming pool, but I wasn't sure how he would feel about the lake. He loved it! We didn't get to many pictures, because we were having to much fun and didn't think about it. We did manage to get a few though.

The kids: Aaden 4, Addalyn 2 1/2, Gavin 2, Brynlee 1

An Airplane Party

We had Gavin's 2nd Birthday Party back in Waterloo at my mom's house again this year. It just makes it easier for all of the grandparents. This year Gavin had an Airplane party.... and of course we had a blast! This year was not as dramatic since we did not have the big cake smash, but it still was a great party filled with friends and family. We would like to thank our parents and grandparents for all their help and for all the wonderful gifts! You guys are what make these birthdays so special!

My mom and Steve decided to give Gavin his birthday present early when we arrived on Friday, so we had a mini party setting up decorations, and watching Gavin enjoy his new trike the night before!

Gavin 2yrs Old

Weight and Length: 30 lbs and 34 inches long

Hair and Eyes: My blonde and blue eyed baby! He is getting more hair everyday and it is very blonde from the sun.

Favorite Foods: Recently he is in love with raisins, still loves CHEESE, Go-Gos, and of course milk! He loves to drink his milk from a "big boy" cup. He is a great eater....eats all fruits and veggies!

Favorite Things: Blue Blanket...yes we still have it. He takes it every where we go! He is loving his new trike from his birthday party. Loves any type of car, truck, or tractor.  Likes to ride the bulldozer with dad. Enjoys playing in the dirt.....don't most boys!

Wake-up & Bedtime: He wakes up at 7am (like clockwork) and is in bed for the night some where between 8-8:30pm

Naps: Takes one long 3 hour nap from around 12:30-3:30pm

Accomplishments: He is big into climbing. Also enjoys going down the slide by himself. He amazes me with his vocabulary....he can say 6-7 word sentences

Gavin Facts: If we had to pick one word to describe him it would STILL be smiley! He smiles all the time...and really is a happy kid! He gives the best snuggles and hugs too!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our favorite little boy!

Gavin Turns Two!!!

Well, I know this is a little late but back on August 6th Gavin turned 2! Wow, 2 years already!! I honestly feel like I just had him yesterday. Courtney and I are extremely blessed to have this little man in our lives. He is sweet, cuddly, funny, smart, polite, naughty at times, and is PERFECT! I know I have said this before, but I truly feel like I'm the luckiest mom in the world to get to spend every day with him! I'm looking forward to this next year...watching him grow and explore! Happy 2nd Birthday Gavin, we love you to the moon and back!

We had a great day celebrating Gavin's 2nd birthday.....it all started out with some donuts and chocolate milk at Dunkin Donuts with our besties Isaac and Jennifer.

Then we headed to the KC Zoo for some fun and a picnic lunch

We finished up Gavin's birthday by heading over to our friends Jake and Rachel's for cupcakes and presents. It was so nice of them to have us over to help celebrate Gavin....Rachel even put up decorations for him!

52 Year Retirement Party! Go Gramps!

Well, my grandpa Doerr finally retired from John Deere this summer after 52 years of service! I could not be more proud to be his granddaughter. He is such an amazing man and we all look up to him in so many ways! We are excited for his new adventure as a "retiree" and are looking forward to spending more time with him. We love you Gramps!

So, in celebration the entire family headed to Moline, IL for a long weekend to spend some quality time with him. John Deere put on a special breakfast in his honor at the pavilion one morning....and Gavin was in heaven with all the tractors on display. It was so wonderful seeing all the people that came to celebrate his service.

We spent an entire day with my grandpa doing one of his favorite things.....Golfing! We played 4-team best shot and lets just say golf is not one of my strong suites. However, I had a blast playing with my dad, my brother and Courtney. At least we looked good.....kinda?! ;)

Golf Selfies!!!

Not sure about this picture....but don't we all look like we are having a blast! ;) Gota love Golf!

Of course my grandma threw a party one evening so we could celebrate with friends and family....look how cute they are! Best grandparents in the world!

The ending evening after a long, great weekend!

Now, I could starting telling you all about the car troubles we had all weekend long, but I prefer to finish on a good note! So, our final morning before leaving we had a family breakfast at my grandparents house....it was so cute how my grandma had it all "done-up" like a little outdoor garden oasis!
