Kinda Sorta "Crawling"

Gavin has been walking along furniture and in his walker for awhile now....however his still has yet to really crawl.  I think he finally has it figured out, as far as how to move along the floor in a forward direction....lol

To Big To Fast!

Gavin is growing up way to fast for this momma!!! All he wants to do is walk along the couch....I don't know if I'm ready for him to be walking yet!! He thinks he is BIG stuff!

Mahaffie Farmstead Family Fun Night

There is so much to do here in Olathe this summer and last Thursday night I decided to take Gavin to family fun night at the Mahaffie Farmstead. My cousin Traci and her family also joined us for the fun. The kids got to see what farm life is all about. There were real stagecoach rides, wagon rides, and farm animals. This was Gavin's fist time seeing other animals besides a cat or dog....he was not so sure about the goats and baby lambs. One of the baby lambs tried to nibble on his toes....lol. Traci's little girl Gwyneth (in the pink) was not so sure about the baby lamb either.

I had to get a picture of Traci's little boy Stephen as he is only 5 months and weighs over 20 lbs....he is bigger than Gavin! What a cute "little" chunk! LOL

Getting Messy!

Another one of Gavin's favorite foods is pasta....and the other night he was loving getting messy while eating his spaghetti and veggies.

Cool Dude!

Lately, Gavin thinks he is pretty cool wearing mommy's sunglasses.....and he is right! He looks pretty darn cool to me! Anytime we go for a walk now he thinks he needs to wear some shades, guess I better go buy him is own pair!

Gavins is 10 Months!

Our little guy is 10 months and is as cute as can be! He really has a personality and we love watching to see what he will do next! It is kind of hard these days to get him to sit still for pictures since he wants to go, go, go all the time!! Gavin loves to stand up on everything and walk behind his walker or in is walker.....he is not crawling yet...but we think it will happen any day!

He is still a great eater for us and will eat anything!!! He is eating 3 full meals a day with 2 snacks and is still nursing 3 times a day. Some of his favorite foods are: bananas, blueberries, pasta, cheese, black beans, and mango! He just recently has started taking longer naps since he is so active now. He takes about a 2 or 2.5 hour nap in the morning and 1.5 nap in the afternoon. We start bedtime routine at 7:00 and he is sleeping by 7:30/7:45pm.

He is such a joy to be around! People tell me all time how smiling he is and they are right he smiles ALL the time! It is so much fun watching him explore new things and seeing what he thinks is funny. He really gets to giggling sometimes! We love you more than life Gavin Bo....Happy 10 months!

Father's Day

This year's Father's Day was extra special since it was Courtney's first Father's Day. I couldn't imagine having anyone else be the father of my child! Courtney is such an amazing person, husband and now father. Gavin and I are extremely lucky and blessed to have him in our lives. I love watching Courtney and Gavin together. Gavin's face just lights up when Courtney is in the room or when we look at a picture of him. With in the last month....hands down....Gavin would prefer to have Courtney holding him over me. Right now if Courtney is holding Gavin and I told my arms out for him...no way....he wants dad NOT me! Even when I try taking Gavin from Courtney Gavin will start to cry and look back to Courtney. It broke my heart the first time it happened, but now I think it is super sweet. I know it just melts Courtney's heart and he secretly loves that Gavin wants him all the time! Even though Gavin really likes his daddy.....he still nows to come to mom for cuddle time! LOL

They already have such a special bond and I look forward to the many years to come of watching them grow closer together as father and son!

Courtney and I are also very blessed to have such wonderful fathers! We love them both so much and are so thankful for everything they have taught us! Happy Father's Day to two wonderful men!

There is no place like home....IOWA!!!

Well, with Courtney gone during the week Gavin and I decided to head back to Iowa to visit some family, and that is just what we did!! During our trip back we managed to see a LOT of family....

We arrived Monday afternoon at about 4:00pm in Waterloo to my mom and Steve's house. Uncle Brian greeted Gavin and I as my mom and Steve were still working. I asked Brian to watch Gavin while I unloaded the car. I gave him one instruction.....don't let Gavin eat the grass. Well, I think that lasted for about a minute. Next thing I know Gavin has a piece of grass in his mouth. Looks like I will be finding a new babysitter....LOL 

Once my mom got home we decided to take Gavin on a stroller ride first thing....since he had been in the car all day! We then spent the night relaxing outside on the patio. 

Gavin really enjoyed watching my mom get ready for work in the mornings and watching himself in the mirror....silly kid!

Finally, after 10 months they meet! Gavin and Elise are 2nd cousins born 6 days apart. We have been trying to get this two together for months, but is never seems to work out! So, we finally got to meet Elise on Tuesday and enjoyed every second of it! She is as sweet as can be with bright RED hair!!!

Well, of course what is a trip home to see grandparents without new toys....Gavin was in love with his new musical toy from GiGi.

Even Aunt Vicki stopped by to visit Gavin!

Steve's parents also stopped by to see Gavin.....He really was not in the mood for pictures or would sit still. So, this was the best we got! 

And of course I have to throw in a picture of Gavin and mommy!!! Man is he CUTE!!! 

On Thursday we headed up to Sumner and stopped in to see Grandma Rose along with Duddy and Papa! It was such a nice day out that Gavin enjoyed some cuddle time with Papa on the porch.

Gavin loves to be outside....so we spent our last night ordering pizza and sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather. 

After a long trip home in the car Gavin was very excited to get back in his walker and start zooming around....

That night I enjoyed some snuggle time with my little man!! There is nothing better than holding my sleeping baby! It was a busy week and he slept great that first night home!

Happy Birthday Courtney!

Well, last Friday (June 7th) was Courtney's 34th birthday! I can't believe that I have known this handsome young man now for 10 years, I guess time really does fly when you are having fun! Anyways, I decided to take him out for dinner to celebrate at a fancy little "outside bistro"......

What better place than right here at home....

On the Move

Well, Gavin has a new found mobility.....his walker! With his walker he is loving opening all the cupboard doors in the kitchen, trying to open the garbage can (yuk), and chasing the cats around the house. Oh, boy we can't wait until he starts walking for "real" LOL

A Nice Sunny Day

Finally, after all the rain we have been getting we got a nice sunny day to enjoy outside! However, Gavin and I were not the only ones enjoying the nice day!
