Sitting Up!
Gavin has really perfected his sitting skills in the past week. Although I love watching him grow, it makes me sad to realize he is not a little baby anymore!

Happy Belated Valentines Day
I know this is about a week late...but I wanted to share with you our special valentines day that we had. Courtney and I celebrated by ordering take-out from a local BBQ place here in the heart of KC (which was amazing), enjoyed a great bottle of wine, some chocolates, and some hugs and kisses from the sweetest little boy ever! Now, Gavin and I celebrated the day by making valentines day cards in which he made a very special card for his dad filled with love! Happy Belated Valentines Day!
I just can't keep my hands (lips) off of him....he is TOO SWEET!
Gavin is 6 Months!
I can't believe our little guy is already 6 months old. I'm not going to lie I wish time would just slow down, I'm not ready for him to grow up this fast! I seriously could not be any happier though, he brings so much joy to our lives. I get so excited every morning to rush in and get him from his crib....his cute little face staring back at me with his thumb in his mouth and the biggest smile just melts my heart! Happy 6 Months Gavin....we love you more and more everyday!
Well, Gavin you really have changed this past month in terms of your capabilities. You want to stand now ALL the time and for the most part can stand on your own as long as you are leaning on something. You have almost mastered sitting. You still need me right there to catch you when you tip over, but everyday you get braver and braver about not using your hands for support. We have started feeding you baby food this month, and so far you have had: avocado, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, and bananas. You love them all! You get very excited about your food and start kicking and making "mummm" sounds until you get that first bite.

Gavin you weighted in at 15 lbs and 12 oz. at your 6 months check-up....so you are not the biggest baby, but your are still very long! You still are nursing 6 times a day, and are also eating solids now twice a day. You generally take three naps, but some days only take two depending on how long your other naps are. You are still the sweetest baby boy I know and I can't wait for what the next month will bring again!
Catch Up!!!
Ok, Ok, I know it has been way to long since I posted last....so here are some fun pictures of what our little guy has been up to for the past few weeks!
We got Gavin all ready for his first Super Bowl as we headed over to some friends house to celebrate! Who knew that you could buy football leggings....and they said leggings were just for girls....ha!
Gavin thinks he is pretty cool now that he can stand on his own, as long as he is leaning up against something. He also is able to sit up on his own but he does need to use his hands for support. Here is my big boy standing and playing at his activity table.
The new exciting thing in our house is that Gavin has started eating baby food! We started him on baby food right at 6 months. His first food was avocado...he did not like it at first, but loves it now. I had read that avocado was a great first food to introduce, so I spent one afternoon pureeing avocado. Here is our cutie sitting at his high chair happily waiting for some breakfast...

Rolling Over
Gavin rolled over for the first time from his back to tummy......he has been working on this for awhile! He has had the basic skill and concept down he just could not lift his big head to push himself over. Well, he finally figured it out! This was the 5th video I took....I tried everything to get him to keep trying to roll over. I finally just shut-up, sat there and waited for him to give it another try.
Cereal Please!
So we decided to start Gavin on cereal this past weekend and he loves it! Since I nurse him we thought it would be great if dad gave him his cereal at night. Gavin did great the first night and he knew exactly what to do and ate it all. By the second night he had it all figured out...the minute he saw the spoon and bowl he started smiling and kicking. He knew what was coming! We asked Gavin if he thought the cereal tasted good and what he thought about it...and he gave it a "thumbs up"
